Prague premiere for Iveco Urbanway Hybrid 18M

On Tuesday, 18 June 2024, the Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) dispatched the new Iveco Urbanway Hybrid 18M buses for the first time. This is the first delivery of vehicles of this type from the framework contract, which enables the purchase of up to 140 hybrid buses.

Iveco Urbanway Hybrid 18M low-floor hybrid buses have four double-winged doors and a maximum transport capacity of 130 passengers, including 35 seats. The buses are equipped with full-car air conditioning with heating, a device for automatic passenger counting, and a camera system. This includes cameras in the passenger compartment, a frontal accident camera, as well as side and reversing cameras.

The vehicles are equipped with Voith Diwa NXT automatic transmission with Cursor 9 engine and HI-SCR technology, which makes it possible to meet Euro 6, step E emission standards without the use of the EGR system (without exhaust gas circulation). The manufacturer guarantees a service life of 12 years, the warranty for all vehicles is 5 years. In addition to the combustion engine, the buses are equipped with an automatic transmission with an electric motor, which also functions as an energy generator and helps, for example, in starting the vehicle or is used to recover energy during braking. The buses are equipped with a battery that can also be recharged externally from a plug-in socket.

The vehicles meet the definition of a partially clean vehicle according to Directive 2009/33/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the promotion of clean and energy-efficient road transport vehicles (Clean Vehicle Directive) as well as the definition of a low-emission vehicle pursuant to Act No. 360/2022 Coll., on the Promotion of Low-Emission Vehicles.
