Jiřího z Poděbrad is the 47th barrier-free metro station

02. 07. 2024

On Tuesday, 2 July 2024, the Prague Public Transit Company put into trial operation two pairs of new elevators connecting the platform with the street level at Jiřího z Poděbrad station on the A metro route. The construction of the elevators had taken almost three years, and the Jiřího z Poděbrad station thus became the 47th barrier-free station in the Prague metro network.

The barrier-free access of the Jiřího z Poděbrad metro station consists of two pairs of elevators, which are connected to each other by a transfer corridor. The upper station of the elevators was built on the very edge of the Jiřího z Poděbrad Square, approximately 30 meters from the pavement in Vinohradská street, almost opposite the current Jiřího z Poděbrad tram stop.
