Starting on Saturday, 14 December 2024, with the first morning departure, the tram service returns to Pankrác. The Prague Public Transit Company has completed the construction of the extension of the tram track to the metro station of the same name.
Until now, the tram track ended in Na Pankráci street, with temporary stops and a dead end at the intersection of Na Pankráci and Hvězdova streets. This year, the Prague Public Transit Company extended the track by 260 meters, reaching the Arkády shopping centre and both Pankrác metro stations, where a new terminal stop and boarding stop, both named Pankrác, were built in their final location.
The stops are fully barrier-free, equipped with shelters designed in the uniform style of the Capital City of Prague and fitted with an information electronic panel. The tram track is now terminated at the intersection of Na Pankráci and Na Strži streets by a temporary dead end with a switch.
Starting on Saturday, 14 December 2024, tram 19 has once again resumed its regular service along the newly extended tram track up to the Pankrác metro station.
Currently, the tram track features an open track top, except for areas of stops, pedestrian crossings and intersections, which are covered with paving or asphalt. The open track top is ready for future grassing, which the Prague Public Transit Company anticipates only after the closure in the Pankrác C metro station has ended.
