The historic tram line No 42 is in operation all year round, connecting important tourist destinations in Prague. The route of the line is mainly through the historic centre and operates on a hop-on, hop-off basis. The line is always in operation daily. The PID tariff (i.e., not even Lítačka) does not apply on this special line.
Fares and timetable
All-day fare (valid for 24 hours): CZK 350
All-day discounted fare (children from 4 to 15 years of age, students up to 26 years of age, disabled (ZTP), and pensioners from 65 years of age): CZK 250
Children under 3 years of age: free
The all-day fare is also valid on line 41 and bus line K.
Tickets can be purchased at the DPP conductor after boarding the tram.
Tickets can be paid in cash or by card.
A voucher can be purchased at all Information Centres and needs to be redeemed for a ticket directly on the tram.
Tickets can also be purchased at TIC Můstek (Tourist Information Center Můstek), TIC Staroměstská radnice (Tourist Information Center Staroměstská radnice), IC Petřínská rozhledna(Tourist Information Center Petřínská rozhledna) and TIC Pražský hrad (Tourist Information Center Pražský hrad).
Once validated, the all-day ticket expires in 24 hours and is valid only on lines 42, 41 and K, and cannot be used on regular Prague public transport services.
The standard PID fare is not valid on line 42.
